Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) in British Columbia are health care professionals committed to restoring and maintaining optimal health and pain-free function of the body.

We are educated and trained to accurately assess and treat with techniques that include massage and manual therapy, joint mobilization, and rehabilitative exercise such as stretching, strengthening, postural exercise and patient education. Massage therapy is also very effective in treating anxiety, stress, and depression.

Massage Therapy is an effective approach to pain management and rehabilitation. Our RMTs are effective in treating and providing relief for a wide range of conditions such as migraine headaches, athletic injuries, TMJD (jaw pain), tendonitis, arthritis, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, as well as many other common conditions related to soft tissue and joint dysfunction.

At Elements of Balance, we see many sports injuries affecting both the elite athlete and the weekend warrior, ranging from IT Band Syndrome to rotator cuff issues. Other conditions our therapists are trained to treat include lower back pain resulting from tight hip flexors, plantar fasciitis, and groin pain from our hockey players.

Another more specialized technique that some of our RMTs offer is visceral manipulation. Visceral manipulation is a modality that targets the internal organs such as the liver, kidneys, and intestines. Some dysfunctions that can be treated through visceral manipulation include digestive disorders such as bloating, constipation and acid reflux. Also, other disorders that can be treated using this technique are women’s and men's health conditions such as chronic pelvic pain and bladder incontinence.

We look forward to seeing you and working with you in your goal towards health and well being by offering various modalities to suit your needs.
